
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma prayed for the welfare of the people of Assam and worshiped at the feet of Maa Durga on Basanti Mahanavami.
"HCM Dr. @himantabiswa performed the sacred rituals of Sandhi Puja and Mahanavami Puja, seeking Maa Durga’s blessings for strength, harmony, and the well-being of the people of Assam," CMO Assam stated in their official handle X. CM Sarma further extended his warm wishes and hoped that these divine moments would usher in peace, prosperity, and spiritual fulfillment for all.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Durga Puja mandaps in Kokrajhar town on the occasion of Maha Asthami on October 11, 2024, and took the blessings of Goddess Durga Devi. He was accompanied by BTC Chief Pramod Boro, MP Joyanta Basumatary, and MLA Lawrence Islary.
Sarma first visited the puja mandap situated at Kokrajhar main market and sat for Puja Archana for a while and then moved to the puja mandaps at Gaur Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Subhaspalli, and Depot Road.
CM Sarma said that he was pleased to see the people from diverse sections offering peaceful puja for peace and brotherhood. He hoped that the blessings of Goddess Durga Devi would reach all people and everyone would get peace in their hearts.
