Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal lauds Dima Hasao people for maintaining social distancing

Haflong: Hoping for success in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 by maintaining social distancing during the national lockdown, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal appreciated the people of Dima Hasao in general for maintaining proper social distancing.

Sonowal was here on Saturday to review the initiatives taken to combat the outbreak of COVID-19 and held a meeting with Chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa, MLA B B Hagjer, Executive Members Samuel Changsan and Nandita Gorlosa and government officials at Haflong Circuit House.

Earlier, the Chief Minister visited Haflong Civil Hospital to take stock of the preparedness against the pandemic COVID-19 and discussed with the Haflong Civil Hospital authority about what more could be required for the hospital.

Addressing the media, Sonowal said that several positive cases of COVID-19 had been detected in the State and the government had also taken prompt action to prevent the spread of the virus by maintaining social distance. “I strongly believe that we will be successful in the fight against coronavirus by maintaining the norms of lockdown strictly,” said the Chief Minister.
