Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah reviews progress of development projects in Tinsukia district

DOOMDOOMA: State Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, who paid a visit to Tinsukia district on Tuesday to review the ongoing development projects, held discussion with the senior district officials in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office and took stock of the progress of COVID-19 vaccination drive, Jal Jeevan Mission and Mission Basundhara.

He urged the district health officials to achieve the target of 100 per cent COVID vaccination in the district. The Chief Secretary also instructed the Public Health Engineering department to expedite the work of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

Regarding Mission Basundhara, the Chief Secretary was informed that out of 16,760 applications received in four revenue circles of the district, 761 applications were settled while the remaining applications will be disposed off within May 10 next year. The Chief Secretary advised the revenue officials to take utmost care in scrutinizing the applications and settle them at the earliest possible time.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Pawar Narsingh Sambhaji, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Nayanjyoti Bhagawati, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tinsukia Zila Parishad, Saranga Pani Sarmah, Tinsukia SP Debojit Deori, Sadiya SP Mohan Lal Meena and other senior civil and police officials. The Chief Secretary also visited the Margherita subdivision on the same day and held a brief meeting with the officials there.
