BAKSA: Chief Secretary of Assam, Kumar Sanjay Krishna and Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta took stock of the law-and-order situation of all four districts of BTC area - Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri - in a high-level meeting held on Friday.

In the presence of Administrator and Principal Secretary of BTC, Rajesh Prasad and Siddharth Singh respectively, IGP (SB) Hiren Nath, IGP BTAD A Agarwal along with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the four districts of BTAD, the Chief Secretary ordered to maintain law and order situation in the area in the wake of ensuing election of BTC. He also took stock of the ongoing development schemes and COVID pandemic situation.

Regarding the BTC election, he asked all DCs about their preparation for the election in their respective districts. In respect of the present pandemic situation, he asked DCs and SPs to enforce the COVID-19 protocol in public gatherings.

In the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner of Baksa, Ranjan Sarmah showed a power-point presentation on the ongoing development activities in the district along with the COVID-19 situation. Thereafter, Principal Secretary of BTC also gave a power-point presentation on the development scenario of BTAD.
