KOKRAJHAR: On the second day of the phase-III Gunotsav-2022, Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah on Thursday visited some schools of the district, in which external evaluation is being held.

He visited Runikhata Higher Secondary School and Tukrajhar Higher Secondary School and took stock of the ongoing external evaluation activities. He evaluated the reading, writing and numeracy skills of students, community participation, record keeping, sports and physical education activities, use of library, computer lab, vocational training centre, receipt of free uniforms and textbooks, attendance of teachers and students, condition of toilets and maintenance of hygiene in the school. He also observed the preparation of mid-day meal and had hot cooked mid-day meal with students in order to check the quality and ensure its implementation for improving the nutritional status of primary schools children.

Impressing on availability of infrastructures of both the schools, he asked school authorities of these schools along with education department to make proper use of these infrastructures for the improvement of education in their schools.

In Chirang district, along with other districts of the state, the phase-III Gunotsav-2022 is being conducted from June 1, 2022 in total 912 schools for the students reading in class-I to class-IX in government schools. In this connection, self evaluation by schools was held on Wednesday and the external evaluation was held in 327 schools on Thursday. While on June 3, it will be held in 328 schools and on June 4 in 257 schools of the district.

The three VIP External evaluators, namely Aninindya Sargawari, Special PCCF (SF), Krishna Das, AIGP (RE-Orgn) and Sarmistha Baruah, AIGP (W&S) deputed by the Samagra Siksha Abhiyan of Assam are also evaluating at their allotted schools in Chirang district.
