Chirang district administration formed MLA Constituency Level Management Committees

BONGAIGAON/KOKRAJHAR: To accommodate every returning citizens of the district, the Chirang district administration on Thursday constituted two MLA Constituency Level Management Committees for 31- Sidli (ST) LAC and 33- Bijni LAC in the district.

The committees were constituted with Minister of WPT&BC and Tourism Chandan Brahma as chairperson for 31- Sidli (ST) LAC and for 33- Bijni LAC, its MLA Kamalsing Narzary as chairperson of the committee.

In these committees, officials having close connection with public like Circle Officers, Block Development Officers Child Development Project Officers, Officer-in-Charges of Police Stations and Sr. Medical Officers of respective constituencies were engaged. Renowned social workers Sukumar Basumatary and Manik Malakar were also involved as Co- Chairpersons of Sidli and Bijni constituency committees respectively.

Attending meeting of the members of the committees held in this regard on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner, Chirang Gautam Talukdar instructed the committee members to prepare institutional quarantine centres covering various villages, besides management of food supply as per government norms, hygiene, security, medical arrangements etc.in the quarantine centres to be set up in their respective constituencies.

It may be mentioned here that prior to that, the district had constituted District Level Committee and as such, it has decided to form village and ward level committees soon as directed by the state government.

Meanwhile, the committees have also organised meetings at their own level and discussed about their role and responsibilities in preparing and running of such quarantine centres.
