Chirang district administration launches awareness campaign 'Sanskar: Manuhe Manuhor Babe'

BONGAIGAON: With the aim of reforming the age-old superstitious beliefs in the society by raising scientific temper, the district administration of Chirang kick-started a mass awareness campaign 'Sanskar: Manuhe Manuhor Babe' in the district on Monday.

As a nodal officer of the awareness campaign, Nirmali Baruah, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, inaugurated the programme held at Thaikajhora market in the presence of Bengtal Revenue Circle Officer Pulak Biswas, District Social Welfare Officer Shyameswar Mashahary and other dignitaries. The campaign will be conducted through short plays and public awareness meetings.

As per scheduled dates, after Monday's programme at Thaikajhora market, the same will be held on February 9 at Panbari market, on February 11 at Bengtal market, on February at 12 Ballamguri market and on February 13 at Shantipur market.
