Chirang Police Recovered Large Cache of Ammunition Along Indo-Bhutan border

KOKRAJHAR: Chirang Army unit of the Red Horns Division along with Chirang Police recovered a huge cache of ammunition and high explosive materials along the international border on Wednesday. The cache is believed to belong to the NDFB (S).

Sources from the army said based on specific input of presence of huge cache of ammunition and explosives, the joint team launched a search operation along the Sukantaklai River near the international border with Bhutan.

After a search, the Army and police personnel found a hidden cache of ammunition and explosives. The cache included ammunitions, detonators and grenades. This is the second major success of the army and police in unearthing hidden arms and ammunitions in the recent past.

Last month a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was found in Panbari Reserve Forest in Chirang district.
