Christmas celebrated in Christian-dominated areas of Udalguri district

KALAIGAON: Christmas was celebrated in all the Christian-dominated areas of the Udalguri district on Wednesday. All the churches on the occasion were decorated with electric lights and flowers and mass prayers were held along with devotional songs to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. The churches on the occasion also invited guests from other faiths and arranged community feasts.

Minister Rihon Daimari arranged mass prayer and community feast at his Kahibari residence in the Udalguri district which was attended by guests from all walks of life. There are a total of 371 large and small churches in the Udalguri district and among them, the 154-year old St.Paul’s Church of Bengbari is the oldest Boro church in India followed by the 101-year old Nalbari Baptist Church in the heart of Udalguri town.
