CISF Personnel Allegedly Forced 80-Year-Old Disabled Woman To Strip At Guwahati Airport

Guwahati: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel compelled Mhalo Kikon, an 80-year-old senior citizen hailing from Nagaland, to strip at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on March 24.

The elderly woman along with her grandchild was en route to Delhi and the incident unfolded during the process of security check-in at Guwahati's airport.

80-year-old Kikon had to undergo a hip replacement surgery last year and she has been forced to sit in a wheelchair as a result. She was scheduled to travel to Delhi from Guwahati on a GoAir flight.

As per reports, a woman official of the CISF allegedly forced her to remove all of her clothes, including her underwear and diaper.

Mhalo has had the hip implant for more than 15 years but she has never been put in this kind of embarrassing situation ever before.

Dolly Kikon, the daughter of Mhalo Kikon, who happens to be a noted anthropologist from Nagaland, has said that the CISF personnel forced her disabled mother to strip at the LGBI Airport in Guwahati.

Dolly further alleged that her niece had been harassed by CISF security personnel after a police report regarding the incident had been filed by her.

Dolly took to her Twitter handle to inform about the incident.

Someone, please help! The CISF security personnel team at @GuwahatiAirport are harassing my niece who is taking care of my mother. They have taken away the complaint form she has written. They DID not allow her to take a screenshot saying it's not "allowed". My mom is distressed," Kikon added in another tweet.

"It is disgusting! My 80-year-old disabled mother was forced to pull down her undergarment and get naked. Why? Why?", she further added.
