GOLAGHAT: Golaghat district administration has urged the people of the district to make use of the cVIGIL app to report any violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the entire election period. The cVIGIL app has been introduced by Election Commission of India in order to empower and encourage the citizens to report on any MCC violations promptly. "Citizens can directly contact the district administration through the use of cVIGIL app. It empowers citizens as cVIGIL is a convenient and user-friendly app allowing people to send pictorial evidence of MCC violations in their vicinity," Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Bibhash Chandra Modi stated.

The uniqueness of the app is that it only allows live photo/video with auto location capture. It ensures digital evidence for flying squads to act upon in a time bound manner. Once installed, users can easily upload photos and video clips of two-minute duration on cVIGIL as well as text any incident of MCC violation in their locality and share the same. A 24x7 control room has been set up by the election authorities here to receive election related complaints.

"Once information is received from a citizen through cVIGIL App at the Control Room, a field unit consisting of Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Team will rush to the spot and within 100 minutes a message will be communicated about the action taken," he added.
