CITU Bongaigaon & Chirang district protests against privatization of Railways

Bongaigaon: Along with other parts of the country, CITU Bongaigaon Chirang district committee staged protest against privatization of Indian Railways. Addressing the gathering, Hareswar Das, secretary of CITU, Bongaigaon Chirang, said that Indian Railways was the biggest industry of the country. "This profit-making industry is the lifeline of India as it provides communication at a cheap cost to the common people. But the Narendra Modi-led Central Government is trying to sell this industry to corporate houses for the interest of few industrialists. But this move will destroy the Railways and hence we have to oppose this privatization," he said.

A memorandum in this regard was submitted to the Prime Minister of India through the Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner.
