CITU stages agitation against problems faced by workers in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: In response to the agitational programme called by Joint Committee of Indian Trade Unions against the problems faced by the workers during the lockdown period, the CITU, Doomdooma Branch along with its different affiliated organisations like Hindustan - Unilever Workers' Union observed agitational programme in the Gandhi Chowk by observing the rules of lockdown and social distancing on Friday. The activists shouted various slogans.

It may be mentioned that despite submitting several memoranda to Prime Minister and Labour Minister by the Joint Committee of Indian Trade Unions to ensure full payment of wages to workers during lockdown period and not to dismiss any worker because of lockdown, it was not implemented so far. In the same manner in contrast to big advertisement and statement of the Government regarding offering of financial assistance to workers, majority of them have not yet received such assistance.
