Closing ceremony of World Breastfeeding Day held in Demow

DEMOW: The closing ceremony of the World Breastfeeding Day was held in Athabari Ayushman Arogya Mandir under the Demow Block Primary Health Centre on Monday. Along with the rest of the world, the World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated with various programmes in all health institutions of Sivasagar district.

An awareness meeting was organized in Athabari Ayushman Arogya Mandir on Monday, where Dr Bijit Borah, SDM&HO of Demow Block Primary Health Centre, dwelt on the benefits of breastfeeding. Anjushree Phukan, District Media Expert, Diganta Barua, Counsellor of Demow Model Hospital, Mrinal Rajbonshi, a Block Community Mobilizer of Demow Block Primary Health Centre, also spoke on the importance and benefits of breastfeeding.

Diganta Barua anchored the meeting, where ASHA workers, ANM, and expecting mothers were present.
