CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Seek Justice For Assamese Delivery Boy Assaulted in Karnataka

GUWAHATI: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma urged his Karnataka counterpart on Friday to secure justice for a food delivery agent who was assaulted by residents and security personnel of an apartment in Bengaluru after a child as young as eight submitted a false complaint.

The girl said the delivery person dragged her out to the balcony to play with her, but surveillance video from a camera placed adjacent to the apartment showed otherwise.

She went to the terrace to play while the girl's parents were getting ready to send their kid to school. She was eventually located on the terrace after the parents searched for her. After being questioned, the girl indicated the meal delivery boy and claimed that he had dragged her.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, has denounced the recent violent assault on an Assamese food delivery person in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Taking on twitter CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “The acute harassment & trauma being faced by a delivery agent from Assam over fake charges, is extremely disturbing.

I request the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka to kindly ensure that adequate protection and justice is delivered to the said individual.”

It should be noted that earlier this week, purportedly, furious residents of an apartment in Bangalore's Electronic City beat up a 30-year-old Assamese food delivery partner.

The incident happened when an 8-year-old girl said that the delivery boy had dragged her against her will to the building's terrace.

However, as the police arrived on the scene, the truth was revealed. It was discovered that the girl had gone to the terrace alone after reviewing the footage from the security cameras. The girl later acknowledged that she had lied because she was afraid of her parents' reprimand.

The young girl's parents simultaneously apologised to the delivery person.
