NALBARI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a cultural project at Basanti Khala, Nalbari on Thursday.

Synchronizing with all other programmes of 85th Basanti Puja which will continue for five days, Chief Minister Sarma inaugurated the main gate, sabha ghar, cultural project and the stage. These were constructed at the cost of Rs 7 lakh and the cultural project would be a boon for the people of the district, said Jayanta Malla Baruah, the MLA of 59 LAC, Nalbari. The Chief Minister in his speech said that the name of Kalapahar would be changed soon as it indicated the name of the attacker of Kamakhya temple.

Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, and other dignitaries were present.
