CM Relief Fund: Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar donates Rs 1 lakh

Silchar: Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar on Wednesday donated Rs 1 lakh on behalf of the Boro Masjid Committee of this town to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque of Rs 1 lakh was handed over to Barnali Sarma, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar. Also present on the occasion was Altaf Hussain, Secretary of the Boro Masjid Committee. Later on addressing the media, Aminul Haque Laskar called upon people in general to maintain social distancing and to follow strictly the guidelines of the administration to keep the dreaded disease at bay. It is high time to have self-restraint and also take the pledge “We will fight together to defeat COVID-19.”

The Deputy Speaker reminded how Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the nation asking for ‘pledge and restraint.’ He took the opportunity to say it is also the time to maintain solidarity and communal harmony. The virus is now sweeping the world does not make any distinction between the communities. It takes all in its stride. To blame a particular community for the spread of virus is not good. Rather, it hurts their sentiments and feelings. We have to avoid it. Divisive mindset only disturbs the social fabric, he pointed out.
