SIVASAGAR/GAURISAGAR: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday paid his tributes to the martyred CRPF jawan Bipul Bora, who was killed in an encounter with the Maoists in Chattisgarh recently. The Chief Minister also handed over a cheque of Rs. 20 lakh as financial assistance to the martyr’s family.
Attending the adya shraddha of the martyr at Dhonekhowa of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district, Sonowal said, “Assam is proud of his gallantry as he sets a rich example of patriotism. His sacrifice will inspire the young generations to shoulder the responsibility towards motherland with brave heart.”
Interacting with his family members and local residents, Sonowal said that martyr Bipul Bora had displayed extraordinary vigilance, valour and patriotism. His sacrifice would not go in vain as the State and the country as a whole was committed to work resolutely to the safety, security and development of the nation. He further stated that the sacrifice of Bipul Bora would always remain a glaring example for the younger generation.
Sonowal was accompanied by State Power Minister Topon Gogoi, Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tassa, Amguri MLA Pradip Hazarika and Thowra MLA Kushal Duwori.
