CM Sarbananda Sonowal orders DIG-level inquiry into death of BJP President's son in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced a DIG-level inquiry into the mysterious death of Sashankajyoti Moran, son of Lokheswar Moran, Tinsukia district’s BJP president, who was fatally injured in a bike accident at Badlabheta under Doomdooma PS on February 19 while the pillion rider Rajib Dangoria, a PSO of the district president, died on the spot.

Sashankajyoti was undergoing treatment at AIIMS where he expired on March 2. Sonowal, during his visit to the bereaved family on Monday at Tapaban in Rupai Siding, directed Jitmol Doley, DIG (NE zone) based at Tinsukia, to conduct the inquiry. The local people and family members, suspecting the incident to be a pre-planned murder, had sought the intervention of the Chief Minister.
