CM Sarbananda Sonowal visits kin of poll officials who died during election duty

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday visited the residences of Pappu Bhuyan at Narayanpur and Hemkanta Gogoi at Panigaon in Lakhimpur districts who lost their lives while on poll duty in the just concluded Assembly elections in Assam, stated a press release.

Visiting their respective residences, Chief Minister Sonowal laid rich floral tributes at the portraits of the deceased. He also interacted with the family members, empathized with them and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed souls. Union Minister of State for Food Processing Rameswar Teli, MP Topon Kumar Gogoi, MLA Prasanta Phukan, chairman of Duliajan Numaligarh Pipeline Limited, Rupam Goswami were present along with the Chief Minister during the visit.
