
Dibrugarh: In a significant push towards strengthening decentralised governance in Upper Assam, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Ministers’ Office Complex in Dibrugarh.
The ₹65 crore project is set to enhance administrative capabilities in the region and bring key decision-making closer to the people of Upper Assam.
The proposed complex will include a modern 350-seat Convention Centre, a 120-capacity Conference Hall, dedicated office blocks for Ministers, the Chief Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary, along with 20 Ministers’ Office Rooms and 10 accommodation rooms.In addition, an 86-car parking facility is also part of the plan to support the growing infrastructural needs of the state’s governance framework.
Speaking at the event, CM Sarma emphasised the importance of regional administrative hubs to improve access and efficiency in public service delivery.
“This complex will ensure that Upper Assam has a strong and responsive administrative presence,” he said.The project is expected to be a model of modern, decentralised governance infrastructure and is part of the Assam government’s broader vision of inclusive development.
