CM Vigilance Team Files 156 Page-Chargesheet Against DIG Raunak Ali Hazarika

Guwahati: The Chief Minister's special vigilance cell has filed a final chargesheet of 156 pages against DIG Raunak Ali Hazarika who has been arrested in a case of disproportionate assets.

According to reports, the vigilance team completed the investigation within 109 days.

The cell on Monday submitted the final supplementary chargesheet in connection to the case before the court.

The said team has also named two others including Hazarika's family members in the case.

Hazarika, who was previously suspended by the Assam government was arrested on 5th October in last year by a team of CM Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets.

A team of the CM Vigilance cell headed by Superintendent of Police Rosy Kalita arrested DIG Raunak Ali Hazarika from his Hengrabari residence.

Prior to his arrest, the senior IPS officer was suspended by the Assam Government for travelling abroad too often without the permission of the State Home Department.
