A protester said, "If the CAA is implemented in Assam as many as 1.90 crores Hindu Bangladeshis would get citizenship which will ruin the heritage, culture, language, and identity of Assamese people and that would be a big issue for the people of the state." He further said, "Akhil Gogoi always raised his voice against any problem facing by the Assamese people and despite that the government kept him in jail since November 2019. And this is the saddest thing for the state. Thus every Assamese should come forward and protest demanding release of the KMSS leader."
