GUWAHATI: Coke Studio Bharat has maintained its legacy of honoring various musical genres and new talent with the launch of a new song called 'Holo Lolo.' Composed by renowned Assamese singer and composer Shankuraj Konwar, the song is inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Assam's Moran community.
On March 26, Coke Studio Bharat's official YouTube channel released the track 'Holo Lolo' featuring Shankuraj Konwar on vocals accompanied by Bollywood singer Shalmali Kholgade. The song narrates a poignant story of survival at the growth stage into adulthood and resonates with listeners at an individual level.
One of the defining characteristics of the track is the use of traditional Assamese instruments, such as the toka, gogona, and siphung. These add a genuine folk flavor to the music, one that is complemented by modern electronic textures. This blend makes for an interesting combination of Assam's musical heritage and modern rhythms.
The "Holo Lolo" music video also includes some of Assam's finest artists, including the likes of actress Surabhi Das, which adds a touch of culture to the song. With its engaging storyline and profound connection to Assam's folk culture, 'Holo Lolo' is quickly becoming one of the country's most popular songs, showcasing Coke Studio Bharat's commitment to highlighting India's diverse musical heritage and cultivating local talent.
