HAFLONG: Under the leadership of Dimasa National Liberation, Army C-in-C Mungsri Mushrang Dimasa along with 46 cadres of DNLA laid down their arms in presence of ADGP special Branch Hiren Nath, Deepak Kr. Kedia, IPS, IGP (L&O), Assam, Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, Deputy Commissioner, Paul Barua at Khepre, 100 km from Haflong headquarters of Dima Hasao on Saturday.

They deposited 3 AK rifles and other arms and ammunitions. Taking to his Twitter handle Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "Giving impetus to process of peace in Assam as per vision of Adarniya PM Sri @narendramodi & HM Sri @AmitShah, Mushrang, C-in-C of #DNLA has come overground today at Khepre, 95 km from Haflong, Dima Hasao with 46 cadres, in presence of Sri Debolal Gorlosa, CEM & other officials."

An agreement was signed between the DNLA militants and the Assam government last month in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Talking to media NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa said, "NCHAC welcomed the laying down of arms by DNLA who have agreed to maintain strict observance of all the agreements of ceasefire. This a positive step towards greater stability in Dima Hasao which was in our shared interest."
