Commemorative postage stamp of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A commemorative postage stamp to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh will be released soon. This was informed by Union Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw in a letter to Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Labour and Employment and Dibrugarh MP Rameswar Teli.

On April 1, 2022 Teli had written to Vaishnaw with a proposal regarding issuing a commemorative postage stamp to mark the 75th anniversary of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh.

"Please refer to your D.O. letter dated 01.04.2022 regarding issue of a Commemorative Postage Stamp on 75th Anniversary of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. It is to inform that the proposal for issue of the Commemorative Postage Stamp has been approved," the letter from Union Minister Vaishnaw stated.

Set up on November 3, 1947 the Assam Medical College (AMC) is the oldest medical college of the Northeast. The medical college celebrated its platinum jubilee on November 3, 2021.
