HAFLONG: Expressing concern over the delay in completion of Sonaram Thaosen Media Centre at Haflong, Halali Progressive Welfare Society president Dilip Nunisa demanded to set up an enquiry committee to find out the causes of the pending works for many years and for the implementation of Memorandum of Settlement. This was stated by president in communique to the president/secretary, Haflong print and electronic media association on Saturday.

He stated that the works of the Sonaram Thaosen Media centre from special economic packages of MOS at Halali Raji Dibarai Haflong was pending for a long time. The project was sanctioned and Rs 8 crore was released on 28/03/16. This has been pending for more than three years.

Further he said, “I have proposed first in the name of a historian, social worker, intellectual, statesman and the first journalist from the tribal people of Assam in general and Dimasa in particular.”

The Halali Progressive Welfare Society Haflong Dima Hasao District DHD, Assam, India urged upon the chairman of Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) of Memorandum of Settlement implementation committee, headed by Joint Secretary N E India to look into the matter and do the needful.
