Congress protests across State against Sub-Inspector recruitment scam

Bongaigaon: Demanding punishment for those involved in the Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination question paper leak case, Bongaigaon district Congress took out a mass rally in Bongaigaon town on Monday.

The rally was led by Congress MLA Abdul Hai Nagori. He said that this was an example of the failure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. "The BJP government has failed in every aspect. We demand that the Chief Minister should resign and also, a high-level inquiry should be conducted and all culprits must be arrested," he said.

The rally started from Rajiv Bhavan of Bongaigaon and the protesters were supposed to gherao the SP office. But on the way, police stopped the rally and arrested all activists for violation of Section 144 CrPC. All were released in the evening.

MORIGAON: Morigaon Congress on Monday demanded probe into the SI appointment scam in the State and also protested against the UP gang rape case. More than 500 Congress workers took the streets to register their protest. The workers were prevented from moving at Bihutoli by police and CRPF personnel by setting up barricade towards the SP office. A scuffle took place between Congress workers and CRPF and police personnel.
