LAKHIMPUR: Alleging comprehensive failure on the part of the BJP-led Union and State governments with regard to controlling the growing unemployment problem, price hike and current financial downturn of the nation, the activists of the Lakhimpur District Youth Congress (LDYC) burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

By staging the agitation programme at Girls’ HS School Chariali in North Lakhimpur town, the brother organization of the Congress slammed the Union and State governments with regard to the crucial issues and demanded nationwide and State-wide resolution of these burning problems.

Led by LDYC president Ananda Narah, administrative general secretary Gautam Rajkhowa and State media cell co-ordinator Jintu Hazarika, the protesters rocked the environment by shouting slogans against the Prime Minister, Finance Minister and the Chief Minister. The protesters criticized both the Union and State governments alleging their unmoved attitude towards resolving these problems.
