DHEKIAJULI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora attended a party meeting at Rajiv Bhavan, Dhekiajuli on Monday.

In the meeting, former BJP leaders from Dhekiajuli - Benudhar Nath and Mridul Mahanta - along with their 100 supporters joined the Congress (I). Participating in the meeting, Ripun Bora assured the people of Dhekiajuli constituency that if his party was voted to power in the next assembly election, they would launched Nyai Scheme for the people of Assam, instead of the Orunodoi scheme of the present government of Assam.

Several prominent Congress (I) leaders attended the meeting, like Apurba Bhattacharjee, APCC general secretary, Bhima Nanda Tanti, former deputy speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, and Tanka Bahadur Rai, former Borsola MLA and cabinet minister.
