Contractor whose banana raft capsized in Tingrai river yet to be traced

TINSUKIA: Though local people rescued the junior engineer of Itakhuli Development Block, Pallabi Bharali from drowning in Tingrai River at Kherbari near Makum on Tuesday, the NDRF team is yet to trace Ananta Moran (50) of Balija Makum, the contractor who accompanied Bharali when their banana raft capsized in the surging water of Tingrai River. She was shifted to AMCH, Dibrugarh in a precarious condition. They were on their way to inspect a housing scheme at Kherbari under Prime Minister Awas Yojana and had to take a banana raft due to non-availability of boat as the bamboo bridge was washed away during current wave of flood.
