Guwahati: The Cotton University authority has informed that the combined merit list of the applicants for undergraduate admissions will be published on Thursday (August 13).

Although the Cotton University merit list was earlier scheduled to be published on August 11, the university authority through a notification announced that the list will be published on Thursday instead.

"We regret to inform you that the combined merit list of applicants of UG admissions (2020) in Cotton University will not be possible to be published today. The list will be published on 13/08/2020 afternoon," the notification issued by the academic registrar said.

It needs mention here that the first phase admission to the Higher Secondary first rear Science and Arts streams at Cotton University will be held on August 10 and 11, respectively.

The admission process is being conducted online through the university website from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm on the mentioned dates.

As per the official notification of the university, all admissions will be strictly provisional until physical document verification is done after the commencement of offline classes in the university.

The date and time of the second phase of admission along with the respective second lists of provisional admission to HS First Year Science and Arts will be notified at the end of the first phase of admission.

The subsequent phases will be notified similarly at the end of the preceding phases. For admission through quotas such as EC and DA, a separate notification will be issued shortly on the website.

Meanwhile, there is still uncertainty over the resumption of classes after the long delay induced by the coronavirus lockdown. Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, meanwhile, has said that the Government is eyeing a reopening of the educational institutions in the month of September.
