Country-made gun making unit busted in Udalguri district; one arrested

TANGLA: Based on specific inputs, Mazbat Police conducted raid on Monday at around 2 am in Dhanshiri Tea Estate of Mazbat in Udalguri district and busted an arms manufacturing unit.

The unit, which was purportedly involved in manufacturing country-made arms, was found in the residence of one Benjamin Murmu. Police recovered three handmade guns, three iron pipes, a manual air machine and some other equipment used for making guns from the kitchen of the accused. Meanwhile, police arrested Benjamin Murmu in connection with the case and lodged an FIR.
