LAKHIMPUR: The alarming spike of COVID-19 patients continues in Lakhimpur district. A total of 181 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Lakhimpur district on Monday. Of them, 132 patients were found positive for coronavirus infection through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while remaining 49 patients were detected as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test result. Notably, a total of 264 patients were detected in the district on Saturday and Sunday. Out of them, 141 parents were found positive on Saturday while 123 patients were detected on Sunday. Of them, 154 patients were found positive for coronavirus infection through RAT while remaining 110 patients were detected as per (rRT-PCR) Test result. With these newly-detected patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases spiked to 4,402 on Monday. Out of them, 2,803 patients have been discharged while 1,699 are active cases.
