COVID-19: Community transmission fear looms large in Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: There is a fear of community transmission of coronavirus in Bongaigaon district. After 19 positive cases on Friday, 12 of whom did not have any travel history, another 17 new positive cases were detected on Saturday. The Bongaigaon District Administration has already banned movement of auto/tempo throughout the district for five days as several auto/tempo drivers have tested positive. The district administration has also fixed limited time for opening business establishments - from 10 am to 3 pm. On the other hand, news of liquor supply in the quarantine centre at Purani Bongaigaon LP School has caused sensation among people.
