TINSUKIA: Fear has gripped the people of Sadiya after a person who died at home on Friday night following cerebral attack tested positive for COVID-19 later.

Abul Hassan (53), a patient of hypertension and blood sugar and resident of Chapakhowa Thana Chariali, a very congested locality, was suffering from cough and fever for a week and he visited the local hospital to procure medicines on Friday morning. He passed away on Friday night in his house. The health official, after being informed of his death, conducted rapid test on him and found him to be COVID positive. The deceased person, who was also LIC and postal agent, reportedly moved about in Chapakhowa town till Friday.

Cancer patient Netai Deb (60) of Makum Chanmari, who was admitted at AMCH on July 4, tested positive for COVID-19 on July 6 and passed away in AMCH on Saturday.
