COVID-19: Dima Hasao DC Paul Barua holds meeting with officials

HAFLONG: The Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Paul Barua held a meeting with the officials from Haflong Municipal Board and members of the Haflong Market Association at his chamber on Monday on the directives of the government to all districts. Strictly instructing the members of the market association to abide by all the directives issued by the government to prevent spread of the dreaded virus, DC Barua put the onus on market association regarding following of social distancing norms and hand sanitization when customers visit their shops.

Clearly stating the importance of adopting the measures in market place with the rising cases of virus infection among the people in the State, the DC said, "Owners of shops should mandatorily draw lines as safe points by maintaining at least one metre distance in their shops and should have soaps and water or hand sanitizers kept for customers in order to ensure hand hygiene."

Haflong Municipal Board will ensure that proper social distancing norms is followed by the vendors in the open market areas, especially where the local vegetable vendors from far off places sell their produce at Lal Field on weekdays and weekly market days.
