COVID-19: Golaghat DC office & other offices under containment zone

GOLAGHAT: Sensation prevailed among the people of Golaghat on Saturday when 20 COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Court Road area near the Deputy Commissioner's office.

In this context, in a statement the DIPRO in-charge, Papu Gogoi said that in view of 20 positive cases in and around the District Elementary Education Office and Deputy Inspector of Schools and few contact tracing with LA branches of DC office as well as Revenue Circle office and advocates of Golaghat Bar Association, shops and establishments in the Court Road extending 50 metres from the DC's office have been put under containment zone until further order.

Further in the same statement it was stated that the DC office would be closed from Monday to Friday except DDMA, Magistracy and Nazarat. The Circle Office of Golaghat and Dergaon should also be closed until further order. Similarly, the Bar Association Golaghat should remain suspended until further order. Similarly, in another statement it was stated that in view of detection of COVID-19 positive cases in the Life Line Hospital and Research Centre, Jagat Goswami Path, Golaghat Town, Ward No. 10, P.O. & P.S. Golaghat of Golaghat district and in the interest of maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent community transmission of COVID-19 in the said area, the area has been declared as containment zone and the Circle Officer, Golaghat has been directed to seal the area immediately.

There are now total 126 active cases in Golaghat.
