MANGALDAI: All the Eidgah committees in Darrang district have extended all support and cooperation to the direction of the State Government to celebrate Eid as per COVID protocol. Taking part in a meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah at the conference hall of the DC's office on Tuesday, the Eidgah committees also assured the district administration of their full cooperation in smooth celebration of Eid.

State Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, vide a letter with reference to the meeting of State-level empowered committee on COVID-19 held on July 22, had asked all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure all measures in consultation with the religious heads and Eidgah committees to celebrate the Eid in religious places with persons not more than three.

President of Mangaldai Press Club, Abdul Khalek, youth activist Mizan Nur Rahman, social activist Rana Alam and office bearers of Eidgah committees, while taking part in the meeting, appreciated the initiative of the Deputy Commissioner and assured him of compliance of the government decision in view of the outbreak of COVID-19. They also apprised the meeting of the measures already taken up by various Eidgah committees to offer the namaaz in Eidgahs with the presence of only three persons.
