COVID-19 patient dies from head injury in Bongaigaon district

BARPETA: A COVID-19 positive patient named Jainuddin (40) of Chalantapara, Jogighopa in Bongaigaon district died due to head injury.

Jainuddin was detected positive on Wednesday and he was about to be admitted at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH), Barpeta. He was in the quarantine centre at Chalantapara, Panirtal LP School, Bongaigaon and he had come from Odisha.

After his test result came positive, he tried to flee from the quarantine centre by climbing the wall. He sustained head injury and was admitted in the ICU of FAAMCH, Barpeta on Wednesday night. He later succumbed to his injury. His demise was not due to COVID-19 although he was a COVID patient.
