COVID-19 patient dies in Amguri revenue circle in Sivasagar district

GAURISAGAR : Monika Bhumij (19), wife of Nilmohan Bhumij of Tiffuk Erabagan Basti under Amguri revenue circle in Sivasagar district, died on Wednesday at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). She was a COVID-19 patient. According to reports, she had been suffering from severe tuberculosis (TB). After she tested positive for COVID-19, she was immediately admitted to Sibsagar Civil Hospital. But due to her deteriorating health condition, she was immediately referred to JMCH on Wednesday morning but unfortunately she passed away that evening.

On the other hand, the Sivasagar district administration has declared the residence of Monika Bhumij at Jakaipaduli under Haluwating Police Station as containment zone and sealed the geographical area to prevent the spread of the virus.
