COVID-19 positive patient dies in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Jhantu Dey (43) of Sripuria, Tinsukia who had tested positive for COVID-19, died on the way to AMCH on Friday.

Though his death is yet to be confirmed by Death Audit Committee, Dey was undergoing treatment in a separate hospital for other ailments and was brought to Mohkhuli COVID Health Centre with symptom of asphyxia. The highest number of COVID cases in a single day was reported on Friday. A total of 119 positive cases have been detected, of which 90 persons contacted the disease through community transmission raising the total tally to 798 in the district.
