DUDHNOI: Total 31 people, including policemen, tested COVID positive in Dudhnoi while one patient succumbed to the virus. The number of COVID cases has been increasing every day in the entire State as well as in the adjoining areas of Dudhnoi in Goalpara district. In the last four days, including Friday, 31 people have been affected and one person has died.

As per the policy guidelines announced by the government through the new SOP to prevent the dreaded infection of COVID, all the business establishments in Dudhnoi were closed at 2 pm instead of 6 pm and the Dudhnoi highway wore a deserted look. All business establishments closed down at 2 pm in the wake of the announcement made by the Dudhnoi police administration through loudspeaker in the greater Dudhnoi area.

In this context, the officer-in-charge of Dudhnoi police station, MukutKakati has taken a strong stand. He urged people to wear masks and avoid crowds. He also warned the public that he would take legal action against those not following COVID protocol. The Dudhnoi police station has taken a initiative to sanitize Dudhnoi town and nearby areas, including Dudhnoi police station, in collaboration with Dudhnoi village panchayat and Dudhnoi fire brigade authority.
