COVID tally rises to five in Hailakandi district

Nobin Sunapur declared containment zone

HAILAKANDI: With the detection of one more COVID-19 case, the tally in Hailakandi district has risen to five. The administration has decided to carry out random testing at market places, bus stands and pharmacies. Patients at the OPDs will have to undergo Rapid Antigen Test.

Mazibur Rahman Laskar, 40, of Nobin Sunapur under Algapur Revenue Circle has been found COVID-19 positive. The area has been declared a containment zone with immediate effect. All activities inside the containment zone have been strictly prohibited barring essential services. Rahman who has no travel history has been admitted at the SK Roy Civil Hospital.

The administration has urged the people to wear masks, maintain social distancing and wash hands frequently in view of some cases detected in the district and spurt in COVID cases in some States of the country.

Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal held a review meeting with the health officials and functionaries at his office conference hall here on Tuesday, stated a press release.
