COVID test and awareness meet held at Mateikhar under West Guwahati constituency

PALASBARI: A COVID test and awareness meet was held on Friday at Mateikhar under West Guwahati constituency bordering Meghalaya under the aegis of Yoga Gurukul and BB Creations.

Addressing the meet as the chief guest, local MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita called upon the people to take safety measures and maintain COVID protocol and social distancing norms. Basanta Kumar Barua of BB Creations, Dilip Goswami of Yoga Gurukul, Dr. Himanshu Bujarbarua, BJP leaders Prasanta Mahanta, Anup Medhi, Parameswar Barman, Rabin Daimary, forest range officer Niban Deka, and comic actor Atul Pachani also addressed the meet and asked the people to stay safely in the time of this pandemic.

More than 100 people of Mateikhar-Milanpur area tested COVID positive in the last two weeks. Kamrup district administration declared those areas as containment zone. The COVID positive patients were kept isolated in the local primary schools. The situation is improving gradually. Several hundred people underwent COVID testing and were provided free medicines, masks and sanitizers in the meet.
