COVID vaccination drive for 12-14 years age group launched in Assam

HAFLONG: In presence of Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, vaccination drive at Fiangpui High School, Haflong for children aged 12-14 years kicked off on Wednesday.

Starting today, those in the 12-14 age group will be jabbed with Corbevax at an interval of 28 days as stated in the guidelines. Speaking during the launch programme in the school, Deputy Commissioner stated that all beneficiaries who have attained 12 years will qualify to get the vaccination. Urging all students to come forward for the vaccine, Deputy Commissioner Nazreeen Ahmed said that the vaccination is free of cost and may be registered through the Cowin portal.

Rebecca Changsan, Deputy Secretary NCHAC, during her speech emphasized how important it is to protect young ones for a safer nation. She praised the government for initiating such a drive. Welcoming the students and all present during the programme, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Marina Changsan, informed that more than 70 per cent of first dose vaccination has been administered for 15-18 years whereas 58 per cent of second dose has been administered for the same.

SIVASAGAR: Along with rest of the State, COVID-19 vaccination drive for children between 12 and 14 years of age, was launched in Sivasagar on Wednesday. The vaccination drive was launched at Sivasagar Government MV School located at Red Cross Road in Sivasagar town. Two doses of Corbevax will be given at an interval of 28 days.

Participating in the inaugural function, Chandana Baruah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), Sivasagar encouraged all students present at the event to take the Corbevax vaccine without hesitation.

DIBRUGARH: The COVID-19 vaccination for the age category (12-14 years) was inaugurated in Dibrugarh on Wednesday. Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu inaugurated the special category camp at Nandeswar Chakravarty High School in Dibrugarh. A total of 120 jabs were given to the beneficiaries in the COVID camps. The total target of the district is 37,951. The other dignitaries present at the ceremony were Biswajit Phukan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), Dr. Rajib Kr Baruah, Joint DHS, Dibrugarh, Dr. B. Baruah, DIO, Dibrugarh.
