'Cultural inheritance is key of Indian education' Says Kumud Borthakur

UDALGURI: The silver jubilee celebration of Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan, Udalguri was held with a day-long programme on Monday. "Cultural inheritance is the key thing of Indian education," said Kumud Borthakur, the president of Sanskrit Bharati, Assam. He was addressing an open session of SankardevSishuVidyaNiketan, Udalguri as an appointed speaker. The open session was inaugurated by Dhiren Sarma of Sishu Sikshya Samiti, Assam, Tezpur division. The meeting was presided over by NripendraSarma and a brief historical progression of the institution was presented by Kanak Das, the Principal.

NiranjanSikaria was felicitated by the school authority for his contribution to the establishment of SankardevSishuVidyaNiketan at Udalguri. Ram Avatar Sikaria and Ashok Sikaria had donated the land for the institution. NiranjanSikaria announced his willingness to provide a scholarship to meritorious high school students of the institution.

The ceremonial lamp was lit by NaraswarDeka, national award-winning retired teacher. The flag was hoisted by NripendraSarma, the president of SankardevSishuVidyaNiketan, Udalguri, which was followed bysmrititarpanby KamalakantaSarma, the vice-president of the school.
