Curtains down on 3-day RHAC cultural convention at Goalpara district

GOALPARA: The three-day cultural convention of different ethnic tribes living in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) areas, which began on Friday, concluded on a positive note on Sunday at Rendu Pendu Hasu (hill) at Goalpara district's Makri area.

Speaking on the occasion, Prakash Rabha, president of the All Rabha Kristi Sanmiloni, said, "The Rendu Pendu hill is no more a jungle now. It has become the beautiful cultural garden of different ethnic tribes and especially of Rabha people." He also credited Tankeswar Rabha, Chief Executive Member of the RHAC, for this positive initiative.

On the other hand, Shyamjit Rabha, secretary of the All Rabha Students' Union, emphasized upon introducing Rabha ethnic attires and ornaments to the world.

Attending the concluding ceremony, Tankeswar Rabha thanked all the participants for making the effort of the RHAC a grand success. He also appealed to all the people to cooperate in the development of the RHAC and to keep the society peaceful.
