Cyberfest hosted by South Point School, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: South Point School, Guwahati hosted their 20th edition of Cyberfest 2022 at its premises recently with the participation of 22 schools.

Competitions on startup idea presentation, IT Debate, Python programming, model making, movie making, console gaming, power point presentation, IT quiz, webpage designing, photo editing and COD mobile edition were held over the period of two days, judged by eminent personalities.

The Cyberfest was inaugurated by Harmeet Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police and head of the Cybercell of the police department after a short IT-related cultural programme by students of the host school, stated a press release.

The closing and prize distribution function was presided over by Thongkholet Mate, Regional Officer of CBSE, Guwahati, who presented the trophies and certificates to the Best and 2nd Best schools in each competition as well as participation certificate to all who were part of the Cyberfest.

Startup ideas were judged by Dr Chandan Karfa and Dr Sukanta Bhattacharjee, both from IIT Guwahati. This competition was won by Little Flower School and South Point School.

The IT Model Making competition was also judged by professors from IIT Guwahati and it won by NPS International School and Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti.

Workshops on Space Technology and Alien and Decoding IOT and its Application were conducted by Dr Swapnil Talukdar.

Console Gaming and COD Mobile Gaming competitions were conducted by the organizing committee of Cyberfest and won by Kaziranga English Academy and South Point School respectively.

The IT Debate was judged by Dr Pradymn Goswami, Bishaldeep Das and Bagmita Borthakur and won by Holy Home Secondary School, with Srimanta Shankar Academy bagging the best speaker's award.

The IT Quiz was conducted by Sailen Baishya and won by South Point School and Maharishi Vidya Mandir.

Movie Making, Python Programming, Webpage Designing, Photo Editing and Power Point Presentation were judged by Sunil G Khardse and Nayan Kumar, both from IBM Guwahati, and won by Srimanta Shankar Academy, Gyan Educational Institution, Little Flower School and NPS International School respectively.
