RANGIA: Due to incessant rainfall over the last few days as the impact of Cyclone Amphan, the water level of most of the rivers of Rangia subdivision like Barolia, Puthimari, Kolajal and Nona has risen above the danger level, posing serious threat to several villages of the subdivision like Madhukuchi, Hahara, Nakul Kekenikuchi, Khoirabari and Hajo.

Due to the rising water level and strong current of the River Puthimari, the only wooden bridge in village Madhukuchi is under threat. This bridge is the only mode of communication for several villagers of the area. The villagers have come out to clear the deposits in the pillars of the bridge in order to save the wooden bridge. The local public closed the bridge for the public with barricade. The people have urged the PWD to repair the wooden bridge before it is washed away. They are spending sleepless nights as the water level is increasing continuously.
